Thanks. Uhh...because it still works.

First of all, I appreciate your feedback.  And I can see your point of view.  Without getting into a tables vs css war, here's mine:

This is muti-browser world. Designing sites that render well on all of them is hard. One reason is because all of them interpret css differently - some not at all.  Most all of them do handle tables the same way - a design advantage I wont ignore.  I will use css, but won't depend on it yet for everything.  Some css heavy sites I've visited won't even work in my browser - and in my opinion that's a worse practice than using something old that does. I'd rather use what is most reliable until browsers 'get it all together' first. 

As far as tables being slow loading, I'm not so sure about that.  I know tables have to be completly loaded before browsers show them, but most pages here are only 3k in size -- if a 3k page loads too slow for anyone then what needs to be more modernized is their internet connection. ;)
